چکیده

A rapid and precise method is developed for the determination of aluminium in water. The results demonstrate that the calibration range of the assay can be extended by a simple manipulation of the control program of the flow analyser. An RSD of 1.8% is achieved for injection of standards and the theoretical limit of detection is estimated at 0.33 ppm alum (equivalent to 18 ppb Al(3+)). The method is applied to monitoring of environmental samples.

A novel approach to non-segmented flow analysis: Part 3. Nitrate, nitrite and ammonium in waters

A high-performance continuous-flow analyser is used for the analysis of nitrate, nitrite and ammonium ion in potable waters. The results demonstrate that (1) the analyser allows the sequential determination of a number of analytes without requiring modification to the manifold; (2) the use of programmed slicing of the reaction mixture allows a wide range of analyte concentrations to be handled;...

Study of the snowmelt effects on surface and ground water in the Bahar basin using remote sensing data

According to recent Studies, about 60 percent of surface waters and 57 Percent ground waters are located in snowy zones in Iran. In most areas of northern hemisphere and alpine environment areas, snow melt lead to the maximum instantaneous flow rate and is an important part of annual discharge. The present study investigated the effect of snowmelt on the surface waters and ground waters in B...

The analysis of the relationship between Lorestan cave barbs (Garra typhlops and Garra lorestanensis) and Garra gymnothorax populations in Dez and Karkheh River drainages

The cave barb habitat is located in a Karst formation along the Sezar River. The springs on the walls of the Sezar River valley may provide a means for fish in surface waters to penetrate into the underground waters. These observations propose the probability for a migratory relationship between Garra gymnothorax in the Sezar River and the cave barbs (Garra typhlops and Garra lorestanensis). In...

A novel approach to non-segmented flow analysis. Part 1: An experimental system

One of the most popular approaches to continuous-flow analysis in recent years has been the technique of flow-injection analysis (FIA) 1-3]. In essence, FIA relies on the mixing of a sample with specific reagents in a continuously flowing stream of carrier liquid while travelling to a detector. The detector monitors some property of the liquid which undergoes a change according to the extent of...

Impact of Syrian Civil War on Water Quality of Turkish Part of Orontes River

Surface waters become more and more polluted, depending on human activities around them. The current study has been conducted to evaluate the impact of Syrian civil war on water quality of the Turkish part of Orontes River. For so doing, it has obtained monitoring data between 2006 and 2014 from state of Hydraulic Works of Turkey, analyzing them via Water Quality Index (WQI) and Principal Compo...
